'Bride to Limbo'
Title: Bridge to Limbo
Medium: Acrylic on canvas, with metallic paint accents
Size: 80cm x 60cm
This atmospheric acrylic work captures the quiet, suspended feeling of limbo-that gentle, uncertain space between where you stand now and the new beginnings waiting ahead.
The central bridge is built using modelling paste, giving it a distant raised, 3D texture. It rises visibly from the water, a tangible yet fragile threshold-emphasising exactly what the title Bridge to Limbo means: It is not a fully solid or completed crossing , but a path still forming, suspended between two states, neither fully left behind nor fully arrived, this is where the heart of the painting lies.
Below, two ducks glide slowly across the still surface, their simple, steady movement bringing life and calm to the scene. They represent us: moving forward without rushing, finding balance even when the destination feels unclear.
Metallic paints have been layered throughout the sky and water, so as light shifts across the canvas, the surface shimmers-turning silver, pale gold, and soft pearl. This subtle glow mirrors how hope and clarity slowly emerge, even in moments of uncertainty.
Bridge to limbo speaks to that universal feeling: the pause before change, the quiet trust that while you are not there yet "there", you are already on the way,
Love
