There's a moment we all know- when the world slows, the noise fades, and you find yourself drawing softly nearer to what feels like home. This piece captures that breath calm perfectly.

Sweeping skies in deep indigo and misty grey open up to a great wash of silvery-gold light, spilling down to touch the water below. The lake lies perfectly still, mirroring that glow, and catching every glint of gold and warm earth tone woven into the landscape along the shore. Gentle textured strokes bring the reeds and distant banks to life, soft as half-remembered memories.

Standing tall and motionless at the waters edge, a solitary 'grey heron' rests in quiet contemplation-its stillness echoing the peace all around, as if it too has paused to savour this gentle homecoming. As the light shifts across the canvas, luminous hints shimmer and shift: like the quiet pull of comfort, the promise of belonging, and the deep peace of arriving exactly where you were always meant to be.
